Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Gung
Tai Chi Chuan (boxing) is a Chinese internal martial art based on Taoist Yin/Yang (Tai Chi) philosophy, awareness of Chi or Energy. Internal Arts are directly related to Chinese medicine, acupuncture, spiritual cultivation, martial arts and healing arts. Dedicated training of Tai Chi boxing methods will produce many health benefits and great fighting skill.
Chi Gung literally means "energy work". Learn body/mind awareness of personal energy as well as the energy of others. Chi Gung exercises integrate breath work and the ability to guide energy to improve health, enhance your healing work and direct your martial skill. Physical effects include strengthening of internal organs; heart, lungs, kidney, stomach. Controlled abdominal breathing massages your organs and creates internal warmth. This will boost your immune system and circulation, improve your elasticity and flexibility, creating vitality which will help to reverse the aging process.
Tai Chi classes include: Tai Chi form work, Chi Gung exercises, Pushing Hands and Weapon training. Tai Chi Weapons are the straight double-edged sword, broad sword, and the staff/spear. Tai Chi Chuan training also introduces meditation and Yin/Yang principles behind the movements.
Incorporate Tai Chi into everyday life.
We offer Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Gung classes at the Chandler Arts Center in Randolph every Thursday at 6:30pm. We'd love to see you there.
