Family, community, and great food!

In May of 2007 my wife Tammy and I opened Chef's Market to fill a void caused by the closure of the local co-op market. Both avid foodees and Vermont natives, we sought to provide a selection of local, natural, and healthy food to our community. We both have a very high standard for food and we think that using the best, most nutritious ingredients in turn makes the most delicious meals. That is why we hand-select products that we sell. The space in our market is very limited and we simply don't have room for products that aren't the best!

I have worked in the food industry for over 25 years and I enjoyed working in the kitchen from an early age. My grandfather owned Chef Renée's Restaurant in East Randolph back when Rt. 14 was the main route through the state. My father owned the Woodbury General Store in Woodbury, Vermont. My professional experience includes: Chef at the Equinox Hotel (Manchester, VT), Assistant Chef at The Dorset Inn (Dorset, VT), Executive Chef at The Mission Inn (Howey, FL), and Chef at Gifford Medical Center (Randolph, VT) where I initiated food purchasing from a local farmer.

Tammy is a talented goldsmith and has been the driving force behind bringing local art and craft items to the store. Our market is a family affair: Tammy's mother, Marge, is often ringing up customers and helping out along with our teenage sons, Justin and Brandon.

We are here to serve our local community and we are always interested in your feedback, suggestions, and questions. Please tell us what's on your mind when you see us in the store or send us an email.

We offer Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Gung classes at the Chandler Arts Center in Randolph every Thursday at 6:30pm. We'd love to see you there.
